What we store, why, and how to get rid of it. Short, because there is not much of it.
What we store
- Your name and email address - because a licence has to belong to someone, and we email it to you.
- Your test attempts - which questions you were asked, what you answered, your score, and when. This is what lets us tell you where you lost marks, and lets us see which questions confuse people so we can rewrite them.
- Your licence - the certificate number, the date, the score and the language you took it in.
- A hashed version of your IP address - not the address itself. Enough to spot someone abusing the signup form, not enough to identify you.
There is no password, because we do not use them. You sign in with a one-time link or with Google.
Your certificate is a public page
Your certificate lives at a long, random web address and shows your name, your certificate number, the date and your score. That is the point - you show it to people. Anyone with the link can see it.
The address is not guessable and search engines are told not to index it, but it is not secret either: if you post the link publicly, the page is public. If you would rather it did not exist, you can delete it (below) at any time.
Who else is involved
- Resend - sends our email.
- Google - only if you choose "Continue with Google".
- Vimeo - hosts the safety film. The player is only loaded if you press play, and we ask Vimeo not to track you.
- Google Analytics - only after you accept cookies.
Deleting everything
Go to your account and delete it. That removes your account, every attempt, and your licence, and the certificate link stops working immediately. There is no confirmation email and no waiting period - it happens when you press the button, and it cannot be undone.
Anything already downloaded or printed is a snapshot and cannot be recalled. That is true of any certificate.
