About

Copenhagen Tourist Cycling Licence

Read the rules, watch the film, pass the test. Free, and about 20 minutes.

What this is

A free course and test about cycling in Copenhagen, run by Bike Safe CPH, an independent guide for visitors. Read nine short chapters, watch a ninety-three second film, answer 32 questions, and if you get 80% right you get a certificate with your name on it, valid for two years.

What this is not

The Copenhagen Tourist Cycling Licence is not an official or government document. No licence is required to cycle in Denmark. This certificate confirms only that the holder completed the Bike Safe CPH course and test on the date shown. It grants no rights and carries no legal status.

We named it a "tourist" licence for a reason. Denmark has no cycling licence, no test, and no authority that issues one. If anyone ever suggests you need this to ride a bike here, they are mistaken.

Where the rules come from

This course explains Danish traffic rules in plain language for visitors. It is informational guidance, not legal advice. Rules and fines change, and you are responsible for following current Danish law.

The course is based on the Danish Road Traffic Act (Færdselsloven) and guidance from the Danish Road Safety Council. The full detail, with sources, current fine amounts and a last-verified date, lives on the main site's rules pages - one copy, kept current, rather than a stale duplicate in every language.

The name on the certificate

The name on this certificate was entered by the holder and has not been verified. This is not identity documentation.
